Legend of Zelda Item Guide

Rupees- are the main currency in the land of Hyrule. Blue ones are worth 1 and yellow ones are worth 5.

Hearts/heart contaiers- hearts are Link's life force. Recovery hearts recover Link, while heart containers give Link more life force.

Keys/Magical Key- keys are used to unlock locked doors, but they go way after they have been used. The magical key does the same thing but it NEVER goes away.

Ladder- allows Link to step over chasms, pits, boddies of water, ect. It has a VERY little range though.

Raft- the raft allows Link to swim across large boddies of water. The downfall to it is that you can only use it on special docks, and it takes you to a specific place.

Map- found in every dungeon. It tells Link where to go so he doesnt get lost.

Compass- also found in every dungeon. It tells Link where the Triforce peice is by showing a red dot on the map.

Letter- this letter is given to you by the old man, he tells you to give it to the old woman. Once you do, she will open up her potion shop.

Blue/red Ring- the blue ring is bought in a special store. It changes Link's tunic blue, and Link takes only 1/2 the regular damage. The red ring turns Link's tunic red, and Link only takes 1/4 the regular damage. The red ring is found in Spectacle rock.

Power Bracelet- an optional item that allows Link to move large boulders/rock things to find warp zones and other helpful things.

Magic Clock- when Link picks this up, time will freeze for the screen that you are on.

Wooden/Magical Boomerang- a weapon that flies at the enemy and can stun or kill them. The magical boomerang has a greater range than the wooden boomerang.

Bombs- small round objects that blow up a little while after they are placed. They can be used to blow holes in walls or rocks, and they can also hurt enemies.

Bow- one of Link's most trusted long-range weapons. The bow shoots arrows at enemies, but each time you shoot an arrow it takes off one rupee.

Blue/red Candle- the blue candle can burn away trees or light up rooms once per screen. The red candle can do the same thing only as mant times as you want per screen.

Whistle- the whistle has many strange powers ranging from teleportation to drying out lakes.

Food- when momblins are blocking your way in dungeons and they won't move, go buy food and place it in front of them and they will leave, It can also be used to draw enemies to you if you put it on the ground in the overworld.

Water of Life- the most powerful potion in the game. It refills all of Link's helth AND can be used twice!

Magical Rod- A long range weapon that shoots beams at enemies. It isn't as strong as the bow BUT is does not take rupees to use.

Magical Book- when you get this item, your magical rod shoots out fire with beams!

Wooden Sword- the first and weakest sword of the game. When you have full hearts you can fire sword beams.

White Sword- the second and second strongest sword of the game. You get it from the old man on top of the waterfall when you have 6 or more hearts. It can shoot sword beams when you are at full health.

Magical Sword- the last and most powerful sword of the game. You get it from the old man living under a gravestone in the Kakariko grave. He gives it to you when you have 12 or more hearts. It can shoot sword beams when you have full health.

Wooden Sheild- the first and weakest sheild of the game. The wodden sheild can protect Link from everything BUT fireballs, beams, ect.

Magical Sheild- the most powerful sheild in the game. It can block EVERY projectile, but beware! Like Likes can eat this sheild! This sheild can be bought at most stores around Hyrule.
