Every 100 years that correspond with the arrival of the Minish, the Hylians have a Festival celebrating that. The winner of the Festival's sword fighting tournament is allowed to touch the Piccori Blade, which is the sword that the Minish gave the Hylians many centuries ago. The sword its self is in a pedistal-chest that locks away all of the monsters in Hyrule, and it is also said to hold the Light Force. One year, the winner of the Sword tournament was a young man named Vaati. When Vaati was allowed to touch the sword, he broke it, which sent out all of the monsters around Hyrule, but the sacred Light Force was not in there. To prevent Princess Zelda from intervening, he turned her to stone, and went to find the Light Force... Release Dates
