Common Mistakes
This page is dedicated to people that don't know much about the Zelda series, and make common mistakes. Quick Find Ganondorf and Ganon Sheik Ganondorf and Ganon  
Ganondorf and Ganon are the same person. Say what? Thats right. How so, you might ask? When Ganondorf(left) obtained the Triforce of Power, it gave him some extra powers. Some of those powers included possesing people(as we saw in Twilight Princess), and another is the power to turn into the form of true evil. We first saw that in Ocarina of Time. At the very end, when the Castle crumbled on him, Ganondorf got up a little bit, and held out the back of his hand. The Triforce glowed on his hand, and he underwent a transformation into his pure evil self, aka Ganon(right). Because we see Ganondorf in his Gerudo from and his pure evil form interchangably throughout the games, this means that Ganondorf has the power to transform at will. Some people get confused by this fact, and think that Ganondorf and Ganon are two different people, when they're really the same person, just in different forms. Sheik 
So, is Sheik male or female? There has been quite a controversy about this. Sheik is female. Why? Because Sheik is Zelda! We learn that Sheik is Zelda in Ocarina of Time(the only Zelda game that Sheik appears in) at the end when she reveals herself to be Zelda. Now why would Zelda dress up like that? The reason is because she was trying to hide from Ganondorf when he ruled Hyrule. Impa gives her the outfit, and she goes by Sheik to not get caught. Also, Nintendo themselves have also stated that Sheik is female. -Talk about this on the Forum- |
