Lands of Hyrule
Details about the various Lands of Hyrule are found here. Kingdom of Hyrule The Kingdom of Hyrule and the World of Hyrule are two very different things. The Kingdom of Hyrule is like the United States and the World of Hyrule is like the Earth. Get it? In the Kingdom of Hyrule, most of Link's adventures take place. The Kingdom of Hyrule was created by the three Godesses: Din, Nayru, and Forae. Din created the land, Nayru created the wisdom and law, and Forae created all the spirits and people. The Kingdom of Hyrule is also home to the most respected royal family in the realm. Great Sea The Great Sea is the flooded Kingdom of Hyrule. In the Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass, Link travels through this area. In the Wind Waker, they tell of how the gods flooded the Kingdom Of Hyrule so that Ganondorf couldn't take it over, and all of the Hylians fled to the tops of mountains, which become islands once the Kingdom was flooded. Sacred Realm/Dark World The Zelda series uses these two terms interchangebly. The Dark World and the Sacred World are the same thing, just like Ganon and Ganondorf are the same person. The Dark World/Sacred Realm is where Ganon(dorf) always gets sealed into. This realm is also where the Triforce is stored. When Link put all three spiritual stones in the Temple of Time and the door opened to the Master Sword, a portal to the sacred realm/dark world was opened and Ganon(dorf) went in and took the Triforce. Of course the Triforce split into three parts(Wisdom, Courage, and Power). Ganon(dorf) got power, Zelda got Wisdom, and Link got Courage, as seen in Ocarina of Time. Koholint Island Koholint Island is where Link ended up after being ship wreked on his way back from Labrynia/Holodrum. Koholint is the home of the Wind fish, and the only way to get off the island is to wake him up. To do that Link must play the eight instruments, and to get the eight insruments Link must destroy the nightmares in the eight dungeons of Koholint island. This island is literaly just a figment of Link's imagination. Termina Termina is a far off world from Hyrule. Most of the people in Hyrule are in Termina(not Link or Zelda). Link goes there when he is searching for his lost companion in the lost woods and Skull Kid turned him into a Deku Scrub and he stumbled onto Termina. When Link was here, he had to stop the moon from crushing Termina in three days by defeating the Skull Kid who was being controled by the Majora's Mask. Labrynna Link was sent here by the Triforce to aid the Lybrynnians in their time of need. Here Link controled the flow of time once again useing the powers of the Harp of Ages given to him by Nayru. Link uses the harp to help him defeat the evil witch Veran. Holodrum Link was sent here by the Triforce to help the Holodrumians in their time of need. Here Link controled the seasons with the rod of seasons given to him by Din. Link utelizes the rod to manipulate the seasons in order to help him defeat the evil general Onox. Subrosia This mysterious land is located underneath Holodrum. Subrosia is home to the Subrosians and to warp points that can warp Link to certain points in Holodrum. City in the Sky The City in the Sky are the home of the Ooccoo, which are said to be the first race created by the Gods. The Twilight Realm The Twilight Realm is an other dimension much like The Dark World. The Twilight Realm is shrouded in Twilight, and is the home of the Twili. |
