Chapter Two: Death Mountain
Chapter Sections:

Kakariko Village
Goron City
Dodongo's Cavern
Death Mountain

Kakariko Village
New Items/Weapons:

After Impa leaves you via a teleporting Deku Nut, start your way back to the Kokiri Forest. Once you make it there, hop up on the ledge behind on of the houses(on the left from the entrance) and make your way into the Lost Woods. Once you enter the woods, go in the direction of where the music is the loudest. Eventually you will get to the Sacred Forest Meadow. Here just kill the Wolfos that come up, and the gate will open. Just go through the little maze like area until you get to a large slope. Walk all the way up. You should now be in a clearing with a temple like structure on a high ledge. Saria is there as well. Talk to her, and she will teach you Saria's Song. Now make your way all the way back to the outside of Hyrule Castle Market. Now go to the way that Impa pointed- torwards Death Mountain. Cross the bridge and go up the long staircase, into Kakariko Village. There are a few things that you can do here right now, but they're pretty much optional. For now, head strait, and go up the large staircase that should be on your left. Now just head left, to the guard and the metal gate. Show the guard the letter Zelda gave you. After a little bit of him making fun of Link, he'll let you through.

Before you go though, head back to Hyrule Castle Market, go into the Bazaar, and buy the Hylian Sheild for 80 rupees. Then head back to the guard and go through. Welcome to Death Mountain Trail.

Goron City

New Items/Weapons:
Goron's Bracelet

You're now at Death Mountain Trail. Just follow the path, past the Tektikes and the cave covered up by giant boulders. Follow the trail all the way, and watch out for a rolling Goron. Once you make it to the entrance to the city, enter it. There are a few things that you can do here, but once again, they are optional.

Right now just jump all the way to the bottom floor, and walk over to the carpet in front of a stone door.

Play Zelda's Lullaby, and the door will open. Go through it, and talk to the large Goron inside. His name is Darunia, and apparently he is very deppresed...so play Saria's Song! He will start to dance, and he will talk to you more. He tells you that Ganondorf came to him and wanted the Spiritual Stone of Fire, and Darunia wouldn't give it to him, so Ganondorf sealed off Dodongo's Cavern, which is where they got their rock food. On top of that, he filled the cavern with evil Dodongos! Of course Link offers to help! Darunia will give Link the Goron's Bracelet, which will allow you to pick up and throw Bomb Flowers. Now exit Goron City, and make your way to a little ledge that over-looks Death Mountain Trail(It should be on your right). Pick up the Bomb Flower that is there, and throw it off the ledge, into the giant boulders that were sealing Dodongo's Cavern. Now you can get in. Follow the trail all the way down, and enter Dodongo's Cavern.

Dodongo's Cavern
New Items/Weapons:
Bombs Goron Ruby

Use this map of Dodongo's Cavern for reference, if you need.
First room of Dodongo's Cavern is pretty easy. Just grab a Bomb Flower that is on your right/left, and blow up the weak wall with it. In this room, there is a central paltform, with three small platforms that go up and down. Hop on the platform straight ahead, jump onto the central platform, dodge the beamos, then jump on the right platform and get on the other side. Pick up a Bomb Flower and blow up the weak wall(same looking as the one in the first room). Go through the door. In this room, run straight ahead, and jump onto the platform fast-- because there are dodongo larva that pop up out of the ground and attack you. Once you get up, push the Armos statue onto the switch, and go through the door it will unlock. Just run straight to the next door, and kill the Keese if you need any hearts. In the next room, you will have to fight two Lizafols. They're pretty simple to beat. Just let them come at you, and when it attacks you hold up your sheild, then attack it. Just repeat this until you kill both of them.

Once you beat them, head through the door that will unlock. In this room, pull out a Deku Stick and light it on fire. Now run straight ahead(watch out for matured dodongos)and light on fire every torch that you see. Once you light all of them, the door will unlock and you can head through it. This room is just a hallway that leads to a switch and an outcropping that leads back to the central room. Step on the switch. It will open up a door in the central room. It is all the way across from where you are right now, so just jump off the ledge and head over to it. Go through the door. In this room, you will see a large pillar looking structure surrounded by Bomb Flowers. Diredtly across from it, there is a lone Bomb Flower by a weak wall. Pick up the Bomb Flower, and place it in the center of the Bomb Flowers that are surrounding the pillar. It looks something like this(*=Bomb Flower): ***** *****. Once the Bomb Flower you placed blows up, all the other will blow up at the same time, and the pillar will lower, revealing a large staircase[Point A]. When you get to the top, follow the wooden ledge all the way around until you reach a door. Enter. In this room, there is a central pillar surrounded by Armoses. There are also a few Flamming Keese in here, so get rid of them first. Now make your way around the pillar, make sure you don't touch any of the Armos, until you find a ladder with an Armos in front of it. This Armos isn't alive, so move it out of the way, climb up the ladder, and step on the switch that is up there. The door to the next room will open. Go through it. You will now be back in the central room, only you're a few floors above it. Run across the bridge, and into the next room. This room is like a little maze, with traps. Climb down the ladder and onto the floor below you, watching out for any of the traps(spikes that slide across the floor). Work your way through the small maze, dodging the traps. You should make it to a little area with a block in front of a ladder. Push the block aside and climb up the ladder. You'll now be on a little ledge with a weak wall. Jump from the small ledge onto a pillar thats infront of you that has a Bomb flower and a treasure chest on it. Open up the chest to get 20 rupees. This next part takes a little bit of timing. You have to throw the bomb flower at the weak wall and blow it up, but theres a catch: the bomb flower won't stay on the ledge. So you have to time when the bomb flower will explode, and get it to explode right when it hits the wall. When you eventually blow the wall up, head though it. The next area is a platform you can jump on, and the other side of the platform is blocked by a wall of fire. Jump onto the platform, and pull out your slingshot. Shoot an eye switch that should be right ahead of you(or on your left). That will make the wall of fire go down, and allow you to pass. Head down the hallway and into the next room. Its another Lizafol fight! Just use the same technique as the first battle(letting them come to you). Make sure you dont fall of the platforms, or else you'll fall down to the arena where you fought them the first time. Once you beat both of them, head to the next room via the door that will unlock.

This room has two platforms, and two walls of fire. Jump onto the platform, and shoot the eye switch that is on your left. One wall of fire will go down. Jump onto the next platform and shoot the eye switch that is ahead of you. The second wall of fire will go down. Jump across and head into the next room. In this room, just jump across the gap and hop onto the ledge thats on your right. Open up the treasure chest to get....THE BOMBS! Now you don't have to pick up those pesky Bomb Flowers. Hop off the ledge and into the next room. You're back in the central room, only a few floors above it, once again. Step on the switch that is ahead of you. Now one of the platforms that go up and down will go all the way up to the floor that you are on. Now head to your right, and onto the bridge that is over the dead giant dodongo. There are holes in the bridge where the dodongo's eyes are. Drop a bomb into each of the holes, and they will land onto its eyes, and when they blow up on each eye, its mouth will open, revealing a door. Head over to the 'upgraded' platform and ride down it. Run past the Beamos and go through the door. You will now be in a squarish room, with a switch in the center of it. Kill the Fire Keese in here, and hop onto the ledge that is on your right. Head through the hallway and into the next room. Here, just make your way through the room and when you reach the end, break a pot for a fairy. Now head through the hallway and when you get to a block, push it down and back into the square room. Now pull and/or push the block onto the switch. A door will open, so go through it. In this room, open up the treasure chest to get some bombs. Now blow up the weak floor, and fall down the hole, and prepare yourself for the boss[Point B].
Boss Fight: King Dodongo
Pretty simple boss. When the battle begins, ready your bombs. When he gets ready to blow fire at you(when he opens up his mouth)throw a bomb into his mouth. It will blow up, and King dodongo will fall on his side. Run up to him and slash at him with your sword as much as you can. When he gets up, run over near the lava, but close enough so you don't fall in. King Dodongo will roll past, and around the arena. When he stops, run over to him, and throw a bomb in his mouth when he gets ready to blow fire at you. When he goes down, slash at him as much as you can. Continue that whole process until he dies.
When he dies, grab the Heart Container, and go into the warping light.

Death Mountain
New Items/Weapons:
Din's Fire

After a short video of Darunia giving Link the Spiritual Stone of Fire, head up the way towrards Goron City, only don't fully go there. Pull out your bombs and blow up each of the boulders, and hop across the ledges.

Follow the path to Death Mountain, and dodge the falling rocks. When you make it to the climbable wall, pull out you Slingshot and shoot down all of the Skultulas. Now climb the wall all the way to the top. Head over to the weak wall and blow it up with a bomb, and enter. You're now in a fairy fountain. Go over to the platform, and place Zelda's Lullaby. A Great Fairy will come up, and after a bit of talk, she will give you a Magic Meter! Now you can charge up your spin attack, and use items that take MP(Magic Power). She also tell you to talk to one of her fairy friends near Hyrule Castle, so lets go there! Exit the fairy fountain and get a ride to Kakariko Village from Kaepora Gaebora. When you land in Kakariko, jump from the roof that you're on and onto a little ledge below you(you can enter the small door to get a Piece of Heart). Jump down and exit Kakariko Village. Now make your way to Hyrule Castle Market. Once you're there, head over to Hyrule Castle. Now go over to the vines and climb up them, run all the way across, and jump off. Instead of heading in the grass the way we previuosly went to get to the Castle, just head staright to some boulders. Blow them up with a bomb, and it will reveal a small tunnel.

Crawl through it. You're now in another fairy fountain! Head over to the platform and play Zelda's Lullaby. Another Great Fairy will come up, and after a bit of talking, she will give you Din's Fire. Head back to the Market, and go back out to Hyrule Field.
